Study Away & Study Abroad

Traveling with a Coker-led program is a great way to learn about domestic and international travel. Faculty and staff are here for you at each step of the planning process. 

We understand this concern, and that’s why Coker faculty plan trips that are as affordable as possible. We help you figure out how to pay for this educational experience through financial aid, student loans, work-study, gifts, and scholarships.

The following Coker University scholarships are available for eligible students. Meet with Dr. Margaret J. Godbey to learn about the process, requirements, and deadlines. 

• Susan Coker Watson Scholarship
  $1000 – $2000 for study abroad earning 3 SH credit 
• Mac and Jacki Doubles Scholarship
  $500 for study abroad 
• The John McLarty Williams Jr. Endowed Scholarship for Study Abroad
  $5000 toward a semester abroad in a Spanish-speaking country.
• Rubinstein-Büchler Endowed Scholarship for International Study
  Awarded by the Provost

Additional scholarships are available from outside organizations. Interested students should meet with Dr. Margaret J. Godbey for application and eligibility requirements.

Yes! Students may spend an entire semester studying at an international university. We are connected to multiple programs, and no matter your major or interest, we will find a program that is perfect for you. In most cases, your course credit will transfer, and a student’s financial aid from Coker will apply to the program.
